Aleppo Soap

Aleppo soap is a natural soap for the hygiene of the person, of very ancient origin. The first evidence of its use date back to 2,500 BC This soap is typical of Syria and more specifically the city of Aleppo, which takes its name.
It is still produced by hand, following the same process of saponification used since ancient times. In a pot, olive oil is treated with soda extracted from sea salt and baked for several days; as this stage, when cooling is added to a variable percentage of laurel oil, Aleppo soap which makes the most fragrant and most valuable. The higher the percentage of laurel oil, the most valuable is the soap.

Aleppo Soap Benefits and Uses

Aleppo soap is therefore entirely made from plant natural ingredients and is free from synthetic additives. Its composition makes it particularly suitable for sensitive skin and for those suffering from allergies and sensitivities to fragrances and other additives commonly found in cleaning products for personal hygiene. Aleppo soap fact does not dry and does not irritate the skin. It also has antioxidant and antibacterial properties.

It is used for the hygiene of the face and body, especially when it is dry and sensitive; in such case, however, it is advisable to choose one with a low percentage of laurel oil;

  • For bathing of children and infants; only careful not to get it going in the eye, because it is slightly irritating
  • Shaving the beard
  • To do laundry by hand or machine; in this second case it is obviously grated before being inserted in the washing machine
  • In drawers or cabinets.

For maintaining unaltered the quality of the soap, it is never closed in a plastic soap dish. The ideal is to keep it open and placed on a wooden support.

The cost of the Aleppo soap, as often happens ii handmade natural products, is not cheap, but if you consider tuti purpose and duration you will find that the price higher than that of other soaps, in fact, will pay for itself (and the nature thanks).
